Thanks to everyone for the birthday wishes! Today I'm hungover, which must mean it was a good day. I slept in and then hung out with
_kissyfur_ and Shannon as they gathered their belongings for the trek back east. When I finally got to work, everyone thought maybe I'd been on the phone with friends in London, and that's why I was so late. They surprised me with an ice-cream birthday cake (yay!) and a business card holder. When my coworkers couldn't find my business cards (see "Action Cat Peed On My Business Cards," earlier in my journal), they invented new ones with titles like "National Treasure" and "National Asset." Awwww. I do feel more valued here than in Halifax sometimes. :)
My mother called the office and sang Happy Birthday to me, which she does to basically everyone on their birthday. I fear 30 years from now when she gets senile, I'll get singing calls every day...
leapfish took us out to Verses, where we had really yummy food presented in really interesting ways. Not for the faint of wallet. I ordered a dessert that included a root beer float, and the drink came in a two ounce shot glass. That kinda place. Sooo good.
Sadly, too much alcohol left me almost unconscious by the time we got home, and even this morning I'm still a little bleah.

Date: 2005-07-08 04:51 pm (UTC)Stupid defective memory. I looked at the date on the 6th and thought, "Hmm... gotta email Cam and wish him a happy birthday tomorrow." Then I looked at the date today and thought, "Hmm... I'm a dumbass, 'cause I missed Cam's birthday yesterday!"
Happy belated!
