Last year I was much more excited. Seriously, I repeated it four times, and had at least two more exclamation points. :)

I don't know what the role is, other than "Jim," in Bar Stories, a new one-act written by the director. When I called back to find out more, he sounded a little not-all-there, despite it being 11AM on a Saturday, and despite his message having come 30 minutes earlier. I'm sure I'll get more enthusiastic when I learn more.

Also, no singing. :)

"The island, about the size of a football field, made a beeline for Mr. Renna's house - crushing his three-foot chain-link fence, swamping his red-blue-and-purple flagstone patio, wrecking his dock, flooding his shed, hobbling his weeping willow, and drowning the oregano, cilantro, tomatoes and peppers in his garden. Then, with an insouciant shrug, it came to a standstill in Mr. Renna's backyard, an interloper squatting in stubborn silence."
...and then it bullied his children, ran over his dog, and slept with his wife.

I think their strategy is to do such* cool things that nobody will care when they turn evil. I'm lazy, so I'll be one of the uncaring too. Gotta work on that.

* that one feature now replaces the late kitchener.filmcan.ca. Which is good, because getting showtimes from the Empire and Cineplex Odeon websites is the suck, as the kids say.
