Rick Mercer just said shit to the Governor-General. Live. In front of thousands of people.

(the Pierre Berton memorial show is on Newsworld right now, it's highly amusing)

Clarification - did he say 'shit' to the GG or is he 'talking shit' to her? :o) (And how does either fit into the context of a memorial service?)

More precisely, he referred to the late Pierre Berton as "a shit disturber," with the GG in the audience. He also described an apparently famous Monday Report episode that I missed in which Pierre Berton (age 84) taught everybody how to roll a joint.

Ah - that makes more sense.

I saw the clip of PB teaching everyone how to roll a joint on CBC News: Sunday the week after it aired on Monday Report. Highly amusing. They had the York Region chief of police on discussing whether or not he was going to bring Burton up on charges. The interview devolved rather quickly into the cop saying something to the effect of "...with only a $20K investment you can start a hydroponic grow operations that will net about $1M in the first year...".

Apparently, the York Regional Police Department has launched a media campaign to encourage people to grow more weed.

The clip was awesome. The best part was where he offered "The National Dream" as "an excellent rolling surface."
