I rule, everybody else drools.

Remember when that sort of insult was cool? :)

I am now a Microsoft Certified Professional in both Windows 2000 Professional (back in 2002) and Windows Server 2003 (ten minutes ago). Yay!

Microsoft's holding a promotion where any failed exam before May 31st can be rewritten for free! So I registered for this exam knowing I wasn't ready, since it was essentially a practice test. I passed with the bare minimum score -- but we won't tell my students that, mmmkay?

Now it's time to start studying for Implementing, Managing, and Maintaining a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Network Infrastructure. Doesn't it sound fun? Once I pass that, I can become an MCT, teach Microsoft certified courses, and make bigger bucks!

by which I mean bucks that are bigger than what I make now, which are most definitely not big in any way

Congrats, even if you will be teaching people about the Evil Empire.

Exactly. Polar Bear's business is very very very very Microsoft-driven. As if there were 100 turnips, and Microsoft brought us 80 of them. So to speak. So my Linux, UNIX, Photoshop, CorelDRAW, and Dreamweaver training will have to share my time a bit now...

questions

I may have to start sending you my Win2K3 questions now!

Re: questions

[identity profile] c9.livejournal.com 2005-03-11 01:53 pm (UTC)(link)
Sure! I'll happily answer 7/10 of them correctly. :)

lol! Okay, so does that mean if I ask 7 questions, you'll answer them all right, but the remaining 3 will be wrong?

What is your quest?
What is your favourite colour?
What is the air speed velocity of an unladen swallow?

Exactly, it's like a mind-bender. "An MCP stands at the gate. He will answer each of your questions with enthusiasm, but only 7 of each ten will be correct. What can you ask him to ensure you get a correct answer?"

Hahaha -- that works, sure.

Come home for quesadillas! And bring me my IPod!

I'm jacketing myself right this second!

Nice job... Treat yourself to some very yummy cranberry cheese that should be somewhere in your fridge :P

I fear I might have to start taking some of these courses as well...

[identity profile] c9.livejournal.com 2005-03-11 05:20 pm (UTC)(link)
We finished that cheese looong ago!

*Taking* courses?! Lucky! I have to learn it all on my own! Then teach it! Possibly to you! Which would be funny.

Congratulations! :-)

I love when I get to teach. I just wish it was my only job.

For me it all depends on precisely what I am teaching. Some things I have a lot of patience for (fun group work, team building, improving communication), others (teaching people how to double-click) not so much.

This time of year I'm stuck teaching (or frantically prepping) 100% of the time, which really wears me out.
