Speaking of being my own travel agent...

He who acts as his own lawyer has a fool for a client.
Our flight was cancelled. It was a little silly. Departure time arrived and there was still no plane. Then they made an announcement that there would be a delay, but they weren't sure how long yet. Then the Departures screen showed our flight as cancelled. Then 15 minutes later they announced it was cancelled. Mechanical issue, so that's annoying but OK. We managed to get shifted to a Moncton flight, to save two hours of driving, then cancel one car rental and find a different one, but we're still going to be arriving in Alberton, PEI, around 1:00 AM. Ugh.

I resisted the call of the Bell Internet Kiosks for six hours, but finally had to give in. I am soooo bored.

Also, because [livejournal.com profile] quingawaga is reading: I've spent tons of time on my lines, and purposely brought no entertainment to distract me from that task. :-)

Oh dear, I was afraid this would happen! I do appreciate the efforts with the lines, though. :)

The trick to not being bored in an airport is to just turn your brain completely off. Try to be a planter, or a row of chairs. Or basically any employee of any airline.

I remember once Jo had to be in Winnipeg in the morning to interview some people and then fly out that afternoon to arrive in Victoria for another. When we got to the airport we found out the Air Canada flight to Winniped was cancelled and they wouldn't be able to get people out there until 3pm or something crazy like that. So she would get there just in time to jump on another plane to leave the city righ away missing her chance to do the business she needed to do.

So in the end we were running around like people in the Amazing Race trying to find the fastest route on different airlines. Luckily WestJet came to the rescue and she made it there on time.

oh my

sorry to hear about your troubles, and your loss, my friend.
