Audition Report

I am inaugurating what I hope will become a regular feature of this journal, and not just a one-time upbeat bit, and a single downtrodden bit, followed by silence. What is it? Something about me and theatre. I think that if I do get involved again, I'll probably have lots to say, and I'll drive my loving husband [livejournal.com profile] leapfish insane. Therefore, I better get it out of my system electronically first to make him love me more. :-)

KW Little Theatre is holding a one-act play weekend towards the end of January, and tonight was the last night of auditions. I went, and had a great time! First I had to fill out a form talking about things I've done, and my schedule. Then I got to act out a short monologue from Stage Manager's Nightmare (at least I think that was the title), playing it straight and playing it as a motivational speaker. I made them laugh a lot, which felt really nice.

Next I got to do some dialogue from a one-act by Chekov, in which I'm a guy who wants his money owed by this rich tart. We played it straight, then less angry, then totally overacted. Again, good reactions from the directors.

Sidenote: I feel like Wil Wheaton when I tell stories about auditions. That's interesting.

The casting should be done by Friday. Further bulletins as events warrant!

I was so thrilled after the audition. I felt far better than I had expected. Good for encouraging me to stay involved. :)

I've been thinking all night, and the obvious is true. I cannot love you any more than I already do, without some sort of love capacitator upgrade.

[identity profile] c9.livejournal.com 2004-11-11 12:52 pm (UTC)(link)
We better look into that upgrade then. I can't stand the idea that it's all downhill from here!

I try to state things in terms that I'm sure he'll understand.

Good Luck, Cam! Seriously, when you do get your part, whatever it might be? Let me know... I'll find a way to come up and see it! :-)

[identity profile] c9.livejournal.com 2004-11-11 02:27 pm (UTC)(link)
Even if I'm just an usher? :)

[identity profile] putaindemerde.livejournal.com 2004-11-11 02:58 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh, you'd look positively adorable in an usher's suit... rawr ;-)

Oh please. Maybe I'm not butch enough for you, sistah, but I'm straighter than a good 75% of the queers I know.

There's no possible way I could choose which to use out of the dozens of possible responses to this.

What's with all the comments? Did you just find your LJ password again or something?

No, just time and inclination. I read LJ every day, just don't often have anything to say.
