I have this idea. Canadians are (generally speaking) well spoken, polite, educated, more socially conscious, better at mediation, etc etc ad nauseum, than (oh let's say) American politicians.

So why don't we start becoming politicians, and eventually governors, of all 50 US states? If our timing is right, we could do some neat tricks. Have a parade, change US policy, that sort of thing.

How many states could we get before they freaked?

I've always thought that Canada could silently take over a state before the US would notice. Would they really miss say Maine or North Dakota that much?

To be consistent, they'd all have to be Canadian celebrities. I nominate Rita McNeil for one of the Carolinas.
