(no subject)

If my job is supposed to look like this:
  • Teaching 60%
  • Web development 15%
  • Schedule creation 10%
  • Misc. 15%

...but it actually looks like this:

  • Teaching 90%
  • Web development 5%
  • Schedule creation 5%
  • Misc. 20% (yeah, too much overtime!)

...and I want it to look like this:

  • Teaching 30%
  • Web development 30%
  • Misc. 30%

...how do I make it happen? Especially when making any positive change means, by definition, the company has to spend more money on contractors (and ideally me too!). *sigh*

I'm so afraid to quit.

Sympatico is hiring. Your time would then be spent like this:

25% telling customers to reboot their machine
25% telling customers to go to a store
25% bitching about how Sales makes a higher salary
25% surfing websites
5% (when OT is requested) constructing paper & glue buildings

That sounds like SO MUCH FUN! I'm actually serious. Though since my week is over and I have nothing to do this weekend, I'm instantly in a really good mood.

Rest assured, there's no way it'll last.

You could always threaten that your friend from Microsoft will come back and crash more of their machines if they don't conceed to your demands. ;o)
