Mooooooved.

Ack.

We're in the new place, and about 50% unpacked. But in moving, you know that the first 90% of the unpacking takes about half the time. And then the final (always turns out to be) 90% takes the other half. So to speak.

No phone: the dimwit who moved out of the apartment at least 2 months ago never diconnected her phone. We have her amusing soap-opera voicemail, her bill we don't pay (hello phone calls to Tokyo!), but no phone line of our own. People who know us are getting "this number has been disconnected." Fun.

No internet: we get high-speed DSL from Aliant, who a) are currently on strike, and b) are unable to comprehend the above situation. [livejournal.com profile] bartok tells me they're clueless, so I hold little hope. Luckily work is nearby, once I'm feeling less antibioticized.

No cable: the apartment's supposed to include basic cable, but basic appears to mean "two channels so fuzzy that the TV auto-blanks the screen when you're watching." I will be calling about that tomorrow.

No food: We spent a ton of money yesterday on groceries, but the kitchen still seems empty. How does that happen? It's weird.

Time to go unpack some more. If anyone's looking for us, the only way to reach us is our cell phones.

It's probably not the dimwit who lived there who didn't disconnect her phone, Aliant probably doesn't have enough scabs to do the disconnect order (and your in order). You're probably way down on the totem pole, down below new business lines then business who are having problems.

You'll get your phone eventually. :P

No, she actually didn't disconnect her phone (Hi, I'm Cam's soon-to-be-husband!). She's been moved out for over two months, which is about 7 weeks longer than the Aliant strike. We think she was a prostitute that needed to flee quickly. This is all based on that one voicemail of hers that we've received, and the sheer volume of locks on the door.

Hi Cam's soon-to-be-husband! *wave*

I stand corrected, although it is an ILEC, so yeah... they all are pretty crappy, although from my own professional experience they get better as you move from west to the east.

Possibly soon to be the first non-regulated ILEC, if they have their way before the CRTC!

they haven't sacrificed enough virgins yet for that to happen. You know any?

They're not virgins for long after meeting [profile] nihilicious!
