Fascinating.

Interesting how they are maintaining the Star Trek time-line.

My first reaction is:

It'll keep the Star Trek fans happy.

My second reaction is:

That's probably not a good thing considering how dead the franchise currently is. I'm already remembering how painful Enterprise was with all of its "timeline/war" storylines.

Personally I just want them to get back to basics. Screw the old show, start fresh and just make sure the thing is damn well entertaining. They really need to get non-fans behind this if they want there to be more old/new ST.

Could be. I hope the timeline thing is just a nod to old fans, and the majority of the movie is standalone.

I was so against the recast until I found out Nimoy was going to be in it. Nimoy means quality. He's like a litmus test. Good Trek has Nimoy involved.

I'm still worried it's going to create an alternate timeline, which is disaster for me because it makes all post-TOS Trek feel like a waste of time.

So I'm still somewhat apprehensive.

Wee, Nimoy!

And hello.

Hey there. Welcome! Agreed on the litmus test. I don't think the post-TOS would feel like a waste to me, but I would certainly be annoyed.

God we ST fans are fickle.
