Go me.

I just passed another certification exam, so now I have all these exciting letters and symbols near my name. It's awfully exciting to very few people.

Cameron MacLeod
BCS, A+, Network+, i-Net+, Security+, CIW CI, MCP

No MCSE?

Nope. It's terribly difficult to wrangle both time and money from work for that sort of development, so I've only managed a few new certifications. Like most corporations, we're kinda short-sighted in the professional development area. To get my MCSE, I'd need 5-6 more exams, and the one exam I have (Win2K Pro) is rapidly becoming persona non grata with Microsoft anyway. Once I add in the fact that we already have many Microsoft trainers, I tend to focus on other areas instead...

Now you're just playing with me. Nope, no Novell or Oracle. Or Sun. Or HP. Or IBM. But I am looking at more UNIX-type ones, as they're less common and more u$eful around here...

Go Cam

Congratulations Cam.

Or should I say, Cameron MacLeod, BCS, A+, Network+, i-Net+, Security+, CIW CI, MCP.

What did you get your MCP in?

W2K Pro. I may attempt other MS exams someday, but for now I like the "become unique in the organization" angle that I'm playing. There are no Linux+ certifications in my company, for example. So that's next.

Do you have to get really long business cards now?

No, thank goodness -- my wallet is too big as it is! They use a tiny tiny tiny font instead. :) So my whole name line ends up looking like this:

least you don't have to worry about it getting into the wrong hands.

When I first saw your unabbreviated name, the first thing that came to mind was a show dog with all his awards...lol.

I want to say for the record that I haven't understood a single thing said in this entire thread.

Congratulations, Cam! That's wicked. New certifications rock.

That they do. I kinda wish I'd gone for Linux+ first, because then I'd be one of a kind in the company. Oh well, something to attack next either inside or outside Polar Bear, as life carries me...
