Trouble with the cops

Got stopped tonight by the RIDE program, and was asked if I had consumed any alcohol. I said none at all just on instinct, even though I actually had -- one glass of wine three hours earlier. I was then asked my birthdate, and then (I think) "then whose car is this?"  Probably it was and, not then. They missed the rental company sticker, so they checked again. Interesting.

On the way to drop Ben off earlier, we drove past the checkpoint as it was being set up. At the time we couldn't tell what was up, just that there were four police cruisers stopped in the middle of the street, with cones funneling the traffic. Very exciting.

Later I rolled through a stop sign. Clearly the police made a mistake letting me go.

That's OK - I totally had to give a breathylzer once after I hit a hobo on a bike in the middle of an intersection. I blew 0, 0, 0 - which is good. I laugh about the whole thing now - but it freaked me out at the time. The hobo was OK - he was stealing scrap metal and ran through the intersection on a red light, which is why he got hit (cause I was turning left at the same time and on a cold, dark, rainy night he wasn't all that visible). But yeah - freaky nonetheless. In Alberta - they put the checkstops in at the 24 hr. McDonald's Drive Thru's - get the drunks that are going for happy meals at 3am LOL.
