I want my samosas!

Lineups threaten to stall Fredericton's hot samosa market

Two vendors at Boyce Farmers' Market in Fredericton are apparently becoming victims of their own success now that they are being told to take the lineups for their samosas outside.

These samosas are the best I've ever had. Also the first but I don't care. Whenever I have the differently-cooked, super-expensive, just-plain-wrong ones in other cities, I am disappointed.

<Little Chrissy> "Won't somebody please bring me some samosas!" </Little Chrissy>

So it is not just us that thinks the Samosas there are amazing... I wonder if they drug their Samosas like Timmy's does their coffee. ;-)

I refuse to package up samosa care packages. It's the only lure we've got.

Not even in exchange for some west coast coffee? :-).

I found some here that sells for $50/lb. I'm assuming it was grown alongside cocaine.

I'm not sure cross-country samosas would retain their character as well as coffee. You'll just have to visit.

I promise to take a few dozen samosas to the Suspects Reunion this summer, though.

I am told that Fredericton samosas can be shipped at least as far as Vancouver by regular mail with no noticeable impact.

Hmm...some samosa chips maybe?

They haven't had them the last few times I remembered to ask about them, but I'm assured they still make them; they just seem to sell out before I get there. Nonetheless, if you remind me, I'll do my best :)

Hey! Stay away from my possible samosa supplier!

[identity profile] nihilicious.livejournal.com 2007-01-31 04:38 pm (UTC)(link)
Man, I miss those samosas. There's actually a place by the airport in Saint John that sells good ones too, but they're just not Patel's.

Fredericton is the samosas capital of Canada.

I just can't believe that. I live in North Delta...also known as both North Dehli and New Delta, depending on who you talk to.

When you make it out west again, I'll take you out for Indian food. Now I'm going to the fridge for samosas.

You have to understand though ... authentic, "good" samosas are not the issue. These samosas are to Indian food what chicken balls are to Chinese food.

Ahhhhh...so they're Bear Creek Market (a cornerstore) samosas as opposed to the sweetshop ones.

Offer still stands though...

Phil was most amused by all of this.

And then he wanted samosas.
