I *so* need phone-posting. This morning I was checked out by a cop, he probably ran my (rental) plates, because I was being suspicious.
I had to teach about 100 mins drive away from Halifax, so at 4:30 am I was up, and at 5:10 I was at the office picking up shit I needed. So I was parked in the wrong direction on Halifax's busiest street (which was at the time deserted), in front of the bank and my office, wrestling a huge, heavy laptop case (nine laptops and gear) into the trunk. A cop van stopped 50m away and just sat at a light until I was done. Then they drove past, and turned around and came up behind me, then turned again. Too funny.
Anyway, I was driving to Middleton when I realized what had likely happened -- I wasn't very awake. So a phone post would have been fun to do at that point.

Crazy man, loading car full of laptops, parked on wrong-side of the road. How wierd does it look?
pulled over
Police Officer: What are you doing?
Me: (points to completely FROZEN windshield) waiting for the windshield to defrost.
PO: License and registration please?
Me: sure, whats up?
PO: just a routine traffic check
Me: ok (hands him info)
He thought the car was stolen, and wanted to make sure we were legit. While we were waiting, he even had a paddiwagon pull up!
