Tomorrowland

The pace of the condo boom in downtown Toronto is transforming the city into something akin to the fabled Metropolis in the film by Fritz Lang, with its space-age buildings and zigzagging flyovers, says Lehrer, who is currently studying Toronto's condo resurgence. "With these condo towers going up left and right next to the Gardiner, we literally live in this movie."

So sayeth The Star, in a piece about the dozens of new condo buildings appearing next to the Gardiner Expressway (pictured from the top of the CN Tower, on the right hand side of the Air Canada Centre, with the CN&VIA tracks at left) and whether living in them can make you sick, crazy, entertained, or none of the above.

There was no mention of the oppressed underground workers, but I think it's clear that David Miller is Joh, but some people think he's Rotwang.

On an unrelated note, can I just add that this Toronto skyline is a bit too Metropolis for my tastes. I'm glad it's not real.

Any android women with the visage of the protagonist's dead mother yet?

I feel like there's a Hazel McCallion joke in there somewhere, but I can't find it.

(she's been mayor of Mississauga for *ever*, and is 87)

It's always surprising when someone new finds my journal. Eeek! I hope I didn't leave it a mess for you.

Moving = when someone buys our damn condo. So we have no idea.

Visiting = also no idea, but at least we have control over that part. :)

Cats = freaked out enough as it is. I don't think they'd appreciate extra car trips!

Well, I was having a very productive day at work.

SO: Freaked out cats - familiar environment + toddler^animals + dog*feeling outnumbered = bad idea?

Why do you always inspire me to invent very badly-devised mathematical formulas?

I have almost completed my shrine to the Century 21 Real Estate Gods for you. If only I could find a gold jacket...
