Great Weekend

[livejournal.com profile] leapfish and I walked to Uptown Waterloo's Princess Cinemas to see Thank You For Smoking last night. Funny, but the ending felt tacked on, like they weren't sure where to go.

This morning, ManuMuffins* and a walk to the market where we found healthy basil (challenging of late) to go with our pine nuts and regular vegetables. Vinny made pesto, and sundried tomato pesto, and hummus! And they're all yummy. We ate most of the pesto for lunch with cheap pitas from the Hasty Market (I'm buying all our pita from there from now on, they're huge and cheaper than Zehr's!**

This afternoon, we walked to Uptown Waterloo again (45 mins) to see Akeelah and the Bee. Excellent movie, great fun. Oh my god those words were hard.

Today's Free Comic Book Day, so I got my free comic (plus a couple others at 25% off). Saw some others I wanted, but the Canadian dollar's recent rise has led to older graphic novels sitting at at 55% exchange rate. Gah.

Then home for yummy pesto and Nakes Grape wine, and now I'm watching old Star Trek TNG episodes. Wheee!

Tomorrow morning, a KWLT build day, and I think I'll be demanding a Frappuccino too.

* Egg, cheese, ham, and English Muffin. ManuLife serves them. Apparently some fast food place with golden arches has some knockoff of them too.

** Zehr's is the south-western Ontario brand of Loblaws.

Please provide a review of the wine. I'm drawn to the packaging/label because I'm a sucker like that.

We had the Sauvignon Blanc, but have had others in the past and never been disappointed. I'm no wine connoisseur though, so I'd best leave the proper review to the husband. I found it light, a bit sweet, and quite nice.

I'm also no connoisseur... my reviews are always: "It didn't go with popcorn" or something along those lines.

Manulife has a restaurant? I'm confused.

*grin* Most large office buildings include some form of food service for the employees, that's all it is.
