Advice!

I want to buy this. Somebody tell me something really terrible about it that's not featured on epinion. Please.

I'm so sick of needing three separate remotes just to watch a movie.

Update: I ordered it about five minutes later. :)

I loves me a universal remote... and that one sure is pretty. My only concern would be the price... seems to me you can get them a lot cheaper.

Maybe a visit to ConsumerReports.com is in order?

I don't want a typical universal, I want a harmony that I can program online and it will be nifty.

Also I gave in and ordered it already. :)

I think you'll love it. Even though I initially had issues with the button layout on mine, I've grown to love it. (Though, I still haven't figured out how to get it to control the iPod, and the backlight doesn't stay lit as long as I'd like it to.)

Apparently I can even download tv listings into it,but anybody with digital tv just gets set up with their regular provider's grid/guide.

Will it do your taxes and walk the dog?

It tried, but I couldn't convince it that dog-walking was a non-refundable tax credit. Also, it never scoops in the front yard. Stupid useless remote.

Yes, you can, but I found it awkward. It doesn't keep very many days' worth of listings if you load on a lot of channels, so you need to sync it frequently to keep up to date.

On the 659, the media button is also too close to the navigation buttons and I accidentally press it when I mean to press "play" during commercial fast forwards. When I do that, the navigation buttons stop working and thus I fast forward past where I want to be. This is annoying, but not a show stopper.

Congratulations though, the Harmony is easily the best A/V product I've ever purchased; I'd buy another one without a moment's hesitation.

To control the iPod, you need to correctly identify the version of the IR receiver you're using. The NaviPod brand has two different models, for example, and you need to use the right model because the controls aren't at all the same between them.

As for the backlight, you can change the setting in the on-line utility.
