Ten months after the grand takeover of Vortex, Club NRG is kaput. Halifax is back to the dance bar everybody loves to hate, and the leather/bear/misc bar everyone loves to have an opinion about without actually going to. History always repeats, just like shampoo.

I'm surprised it lasted as long as it did, Halifax really can't support more than 1-2 gay bars at a time...

The only gay bar in my area is in Kitchener, which is much to far away. Apparently Waterloo, with its two universities can't support any at all.

It's far when it's freezing cold outside and the buses have stopped running and the cabs are so busy you can't catch one in the time it takes to walk to uptown Waterloo. Sooo not worth it! :-P

Vinny and I are such walkers. He told his personal trainer once that we walked from downtown to uptown to see a movie at the Princess (something we do fairly regularly) and the personal trainer was aghast.

I did stay in a church-affiliated residence for two years; however, being affiliated with the United church meant that we missed out on all the serious Catholic fun. We had our moments though. :-)

There's a gay bar in Philadelphia called Shampoo. I think they have foam parties.
