No 787s for Air Canada

Those darn pilots -- always thinking of themselves instead of my likelihood of flying in a shiny new jet.

Air Canada pilots scuttle Boeing deal.

I suppose part of me is happy, as reduce/reuse/recycle applies even to airplanes.

That CBC story is much more neutral than the Globe and Mail article, tentatively titled "Greedy pilots ruin all your fun":

Members of the Air Canada Pilots Association ignored their negotiating team's recommendation to accept the airline's offer on wages and working conditions for flying new Boeing 777s and 787 Dreamliners.

As a result, passengers won't be getting the added comfort of new Boeing aircraft with roomier seats and aisles wider than older long-range models. The goal was to help catapult Air Canada, which only recently recovered from financial troubles, into the upper-quality tier of airlines in the world.
