Book Meme Update

Remember the book meme that took livejournal (and the rest of the blogger world) by storm?

Well, Paul Wells of the back page of Maclean's magazine got caught in the tide, and wittily tagged Her Excellency the Rt. Hon. Adrienne Clarkson, Governor-General of Canada.

Wonderfully, she took the bait: http://weblogs.macleans.ca/paulwells/archives/week_2005_06_12-2005_06_18.asp#001432

I heart Canada and I heart Adrienne Clarkson.
I believe that between us, John Ralston Saul and I, we must own between 4,000 and 5,000 books. We love them all, but of course, space can become a problem. We have 2 and 3 copies of many of our books, but as they are of different editions and sometimes Canadian and American, we don’t really want to give up any of them. Also, we have a habit of writing all over them so you never know when there might be a gem for something that can be used in a speech or as reference. We undoubtedly have too many books and we have even toyed with the idea of putting our books in a separate house, but that would mean we would have to visit our books and maybe get our books a babysitter and maybe that is not such a good idea.

Thanks for the mentions of Paul Wells in your LJ. I have been checking his web log ever since you first recommended it and it's great reading. I still can't tell who he's shilling for (equally cynical perhaps?), which is about the best it gets in journalism these days.
