Winnie and I had a great relationship. At least, we did until we actually met. The girl next door was perfect... so perfect I couldn't even talk to her. Our parents were chatty, and I always suspected they were up to something when I saw them talk, then look back towards my window, then talk some more.

Turns out Dad was just worried about the brickwork on the house.

I finally met Winnie on the first day of school. As she walked towards me I said, well, stammered, "Uh, hi." She stared, and kept walking.

That's when I knew it was love.
