Power

Saving power: The Citadel Hotel in Halifax puts their Coke machines in the hallways on motion sensors, so they turn off when nobody's around for a while. Neat idea.

Maintaining power: the gay guys on The Amazing Race just called Rob and Amber (past winners of Survivor, current #2 team in TAR) "like an STD, you have to protect yourself against them."

ADDENDUM Brain power: Alan Alda is on TV talking with scientists about the Big Bang, and he created a metaphor that involved raisin bread, with one raisin trying to look at another raisin on the other side of the baking tin. I can't take him seriously, he's still Hawkeye Pierce. Though he's OK on The West Wing for some reason.

Doesn't that mean cold Coke?

I prefer my Coke cold.

Oops. I mean warm Coke. It seems all I drink these days is coffee so 'bad situation' immediatly translated to 'cold' in my mind.

I haven't checked, as it's far away from my room (and doesn't give receipts for expensing), but I think the timeout is rather long. Also, it's right by the elevator, so any movement on the floor means it's on for a while. Since Coke doesn't spoil, it's probably OK for it to be very cold, then pretty cold, then very cold, then pretty cold, etc...

I imagine it would take awhile for the coke to get cold, being in an insulated box and all. It would have to sit around for a awfully long time, in which case the coke machine shouldn't be there at all.

Excellent points. I planned to use those next if Sarah kept debating it. :)

Then you definitely shouldn't watch Klinger's instructional video on quantum physics.
