Frickin' eBayers.

February 5

[I paid for my auction item. (a little water fountain for the cats, for those who are curious)]

February 13

Me: I have not heard from you since my payment on February 5th. Can you advise if the item has shipped, and what the tracking number is?

February 14

Seller: I was waiting to find a box, but havn't yet so will for sure send it tomorrow using another method. Sorry.

Me: Thanks for the update, just wanted to make sure I knew what was up. Thanks!

February 21

Me: Hi there, can you please advise if this item has shipped, and what the tracking number is? Thanks!

Seller: yes it was sent on saturday, the 12th.

Me: Thanks! Can you tell me the tracking number, or how it was shipped?

[no response]

March 8

Me: It's been nearly a month, and I have not received my shipment. Can you please advise when it was shipped (you have told me two different dates so far) and what the tracking number is?

Seller: I was just thinking about you. I have an extra one and it must be yours! It will go tomorrow , for sure. Sorry for the inconvenience but International shipping is new to me and requires a lot more. Sorry for any inconvenience... Thanks!

I have an extra one and it must be yours!

International shipping is new to me and requires a lot more.

Like actually putting it in a box and sending it??

I have to do what with the packing tape?!? Like, this is sooo *hard*! Like omigod!

[identity profile] halimattfax.livejournal.com 2005-03-08 05:31 pm (UTC)(link)
Don’t judge… you’re accustomed to the ease of use of Canadian packing tape.

OOPS

:-P You're quite funny, Mr [info]halimattfax, quite funny indeed.

I'm trying to think of something silly I could say American packing tape is made from, but I'm tapped out tonight. I'll just go do some laundry.

[identity profile] c9.livejournal.com 2005-03-08 05:40 pm (UTC)(link)
...also, I've added you as a friend, despite having never met you. This use of "friend" always strikes me as odd. Some people like to ask permission and all that, so please tell me if you wish that I would, so that you can say no. :-)

[identity profile] halimattfax.livejournal.com 2005-03-08 05:50 pm (UTC)(link)
hmm… I’m a rude bastard, I just added you without asking. nice to meet you.

[identity profile] c9.livejournal.com 2005-03-08 05:55 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmmm. Either you mean that you're a rude bastard, clearly in jest, in which case welcome! Or possibly you mean to sarcastically imply that I'm a rude bastard, and you're kinda peeved at me. A quick check of the userinfo page and (ta-daaaa!) you're friendly! Hooray!

There was no doubt in my mind. (shakes hand, buys a super-secret Vanilla Bean Fruizzi)

haha :)

Being a former eBay seller, I can tell you right now that this person appears to be slow... well, that's being nice. I think they may be lazy and retarded.

I suggest reporting them for being fuckwads. In the process, he/she should probably refund you your shipping since it took them so goddamned long to get their act in gear.

Yeah, okay... I'm done now.

[identity profile] c9.livejournal.com 2005-03-08 05:53 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm a regular eBay buyer and seller, and there's no doubt in my mind on these points. Grrrr.

[identity profile] miket61.livejournal.com 2005-03-08 08:16 pm (UTC)(link)
Well, that's pathetic.

I have an autographed copy of The Collector's Guide to Buing and Selling on the Internet, by Nancy L Hix, if you think sending it to this person would help...

Nancy's a good friend, and I bid on her books when other people sell them to make sure that no one is getting them for less than $5.

Ummmm....I'd say negative feedback....times one hundred

I was just thinking about you.

If that doesn't make you feel all warm and fuzzy, nothing will.

[identity profile] leapfish.livejournal.com 2005-03-09 04:41 am (UTC)(link)
You're the mystery cat-fountain-seller, aren't you? Admit it!

[identity profile] mcmlxxiv.livejournal.com 2005-03-09 07:13 am (UTC)(link)
Yes- and it will be a warm day in Newfoundland before your cats enjoy fresh drinking water!

Mwahahahaha!

I can't stand sellers (almost always American) who flip out at the idea of international shipping. There's an extra form. One. If you're shipping to Canada, the form is all of two inches square. How hard can it be to write down what's in the bloody box. OK, it might be a little trickier if the box is actually bloody. But for the most part...

"you know, i was just thinking about you, too...and about seeing your face when I slap you with eBay fraud, and get my money back. Can you take a picture so i can compare it with my mental one? Thanks!"
