More Winnipeg Tidbits

This city is very cold, so there's an extensive underground much like the big cities have. (I know, I know, Winnipeg is a big city. Mostly. But still.)

The phone in my hotel room has buttons for Front Desk, Wake-Up Calls, Housekeeping, Reservations, Taxi, Pizza Delivery, Chinese Food Delivery, Chicken Delivery, Weather Information, Tourist Information.

The radio in my hotel room has buttons for radio stations labelled Soft Rock, Rock, Country, Pop, Jazz. They have tiny pictures above each label, picturing a mountain stream with various rocks, a large tunnel through a mountain, some serious-looking cows, bottles of pop, and a train zipping past a crossing, respectively.

On the way to the hotel, I passed a business of some sort. The sign said, and I quote:
Laundromat Pizza Convenience Store Chicken Car Wash EXIT

I love the sign it says so much, but yet not near enough.

Two chicken-related comments:

1. There is something about "Chicken Delivery" that makes me picture the chicken being delivered as live.

2. I keep reading that sign text as "Chicken Wash". Which makes sense - you never know where that chicken you've just had delivered has been!

Silly. It's a "Chicken Car Wash." Chicken-owned and chicken-operated.

Vancouer doesn't have a large underground...

(of course, it doesn't need one!)

Mmmm... laundromat pizza....

The very first "Ben" thing I remember is " (blank stare) ....laauuunndrrry." Spoken in reference to all-nighters to do laundry.

Well, that and the music.

All-nighters aren't pulled to do laundry... laundry is done during all-nighters to maintain sanity. Lots of things are done during all-nighters to maintain sanity, 'cos lots of the other things that happen during all-nighters are insane.
