Electronic Voting

It amazes me that the same people who push no-paper-trail, unverifiable electronic voting, are also often the same people who get upset when the talking paperclip shows up on the screen. Don't they understand it's the same computer, and the same fallible human programmers, working on both?

I see that Will Wheaton who was Weasley Crusher on Star Trek: TNG... is running for President... aweosme ;D I'd only vote for him if he wears that tight spandex suit they wore in the first couple of seasons

Wil Wheaton has a weblog, www.wilwheaton.net, where you can find out what he's up to these days (he writes books and raises his kids). He's all grown up, and very funny to read.

I would rather the staple and not the dog. The dog has shifty eyes.

I prefer the cat, personally. The dog upsets Willie too much. He can't figure out where the barks are coming from.

What does the wizard do to Willie?

[identity profile] whobunkyboo.livejournal.com 2004-08-26 11:11 am (UTC)(link)
I dunno. I have never used the wizard. He kinda creeps me out! LOL

I find the world option hypnotic.

It's distracting and relaxing to watch it change into a flower and the world spins too. It's hypnotic

I also like the chime sound!

When we got our first computer (a Tandy 1000 SL/2 for those wondering), we had a great game called Digger. One time when we were playing it, one of the cats (Winnie) ran over and started pawing at the characters moving around on the screen. But as soon as she figured out she couldn't get them, she walked away and has never even batted an eyelash towards a computer since.

I miss Digger.

I drove one of our cats (Shrodinger, for those who know them) to distraction by running a screensaver of swimming fish. She had almost figured out they weren't real until I hooked up a second monitor, and that completely blew her little feline mind. The fish could swim from ONE GLASS BOX TO THE OTHER. Obviously, these glass boxes were magical. And the fish must be tasty.

I have seven live exotic goldfish in a 33 gallon tank in my living room. I also have two cats. Neither cat is even REMOTELY interested in the fish! If you put Fatcat (the beachball with feet) directly in front of the tank on her footstool, and then point at the fishies swimming past her nose she will....

smell your finger.

Dumb cats.
