Movie Minute

Just saw The Bourne Supremacy. I love spy movies because then I get to pretend I'm a spy for the next few hours/days/until [livejournal.com profile] leapfish tells me to stop.

Very enjoyable, and very smart. The only thing I disliked was the shaky handheld camera being excessively used. But I love it when I'm forced to run to keep up with the plot, and things aren't continuously spelled out.

Typical Hollywood Spy Movie:

Spy #1: Bourne is gone.
Spy #2: You mean Jason Bourne, the CIA Operative who no longer works for us?
Spy #1: Yes, Jason Bourne, the CIA assassin who no longer works for us, and we fear.
Spy #3: Bourne is scary, because he's a CIA assassin, but he longer works for us, and we think he's coming for us.
Spy #2: He's coming for us? But he's a trained assassin! Trained by us, that is.
Spy #1: Luckily, we don't have to be scared because he's gone, and certainly not coming after us.
Spy #2: But he's a trained CIA operative, and he is definitely coming after us!
Spy Boss: (drops file on desk) Shit!

Better Spy Movie:

Spy #1: Bourne is gone.
Spy Boss: (drops file on desk) Shit!
